About Homebody Wellness

I know exactly how it can feel.

For years I told myself it wasn’t that bad. That I should just learn to live with it. That other people had it worse. That maybe this was just how my body was always going to feel.

But deep down, I knew it wasn’t the truth. It didn’t sit right and I realized I didn’t need to settle. And you don’t either.

You deserve to have a plan.
You deserve support that truly helps.

You deserve to feel at home in your body.

Dr. Melissa Brandon PT, DPT, RYT

My own healing journey has deeply shaped how I care for others. In 2011, after a cliff jumping injury left me with ongoing tailbone pain, my symptoms slowly expanded into urinary dysfunction, SI joint instability, pain with sex, and chronic low back pain. And, like so many other women, I minimized my symptoms and tried to push through, assuming that this may need to be my new normal.

But as I pursued my doctorate in physical therapy, I discovered pelvic health and suddenly, all the pieces of my puzzle came together. It all made sense.

I immersed myself in learning, applying everything I could to my own recovery. While I made progress, it wasn’t until I sought out working with a pelvic health physical therapist that I experienced full, lasting healing. That experience, both self-directed work and receiving expert support, gave me a deep respect for how personal, complex and powerful this care can be.

Since that time, I’ve continued to blend my orthopedic and pelvic health physical therapy training with my long-standing passion for yoga, my growing love of Pilates, and a holistic, integrative approach that honors the whole person - body, mind and nervous system.

Today, I have the privilege of helping women feel confident, capable and connected in their bodies through all stages of life - whether facing intimacy challenges, bladder concerns, chronic orthopedic pain, pregnancy and postpartum transitions, or the hormonal shifts of menopause.

So no matter where you are in your journey, you deserve care that meets you with compassion, empowers you with knowledge, and supports you in feeling at home in your body again.

My approach is grounded in:

  • Compassionate, non-judgemental care that is curated WITH you

  • Mindful presence, ensuring we slow down and connect at the beginning of each session

  • Listening fully and staying curious in your story and lived experiences

  • Creating a plan that is tailored to your goals, your life and your body

  • Blending hands-on techniques, movement, breath, strength training, and nervous system support

  • Empowering you with tools, knowledge, and support to feel confident in your own self-care practices to facilitate lifelong well-being

I would be honored to walk alongside you as you reconnect to your body, your strength, and your well-being.

With years of experience supporting women through every season - menstruation, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and beyond - I bring a deep understanding of how the body changes over time and what it needs to thrive.

My approach draws from a wide range of tools including physical therapy, therapeutic yoga, clinical Pilates, manual therapy, and dry needling. Whether we're working on strength, mobility, pelvic floor health or nervous system support, care is always tailored to meet you exactly where you are. I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms, so you can feel strong, supported, and connected in your body at every stage.
